Mrs Anna Joubin-Bret (UNCITRAL) will be Keynote Speaker at WOA’s Convention on 5th of October 2021 in Vienna
27 January 2021
For the Global Open Account Community, one of the key areas of concern and interest is the standardisation of law and regulation to facilitate cross border business and the development of infrastructures that are consistent and predictable. That’s why WOA is delighted to introduce its keynote speaker for our October 2021 annual Conference as Mrs. Anna Joubin-Bret.
She is the Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law and Director of the Division on International Trade Law in the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations, and operates at the core of international efforts to achieve worldwide consistency and compatibility in commercial law.
Her CV is dazzling, mixing high academia and research with on the ground interventions and legal practice, dealing with lawyers, investors and top-level government bodies. For example, she has served as counsel, mediator and conciliator in key international investment matters and has acted as arbitrator in several ICSID, UNCITRAL and ICC disputes. As well as acting as a commercial advisor, she is also an appointed judge at the Commercial Court in Grenoble and was elected Regional Counsellor of the Rhône-Alpes Region (France) in 1998.
We are delighted that Anna can join us and look forward to her sharing some of her experience in developments which are at the critical core of International Law and its impact on the Global Receivables Industry, such as the current discussions of a model law on Factoring at Unidroit.
